What Does My Process Look Like?

Here’s a breakdown of every stage that goes into my process for creating conversion-focused copy that wins over your audience with empathy and unapologetic authenticity.

Because copy without research is like fumbling your way through a pitch-black room during a massive thunderstorm. Or guessing at it, which may be even worse.

1. Research and Discovery

Here, I dive deep into your brand voice, your offer, and your audience so I can find out what delights or frustrates them and how they put this into words. Some of the ways I do this is by collecting data from review mining, on-site polls, surveys, client interviews, and going through live chat transcripts.

This helps me tune in to the conversation that’s already happening in their head so I can identify gaps, opportunities, and unexplored thought patterns or pathways we can use to create our Messaging Resonance Matrix in the next stage.

2. Synthesis And Messaging Hierarchy

After I’ve explored the worldview of your perfect clients, the next step is to take all that research data and compile it using what I call the Messaging Resonance Matrix. This is where I list key findings that will help me figure out the order our messages need to follow on the page to match your audience’s stage of awareness.

I determine which proven frameworks and formulas I’m going to use in the writing stage, so we can meet your readers exactly where they are with copy that's in your voice, reads compelling, and resonates with your one reader (aka your dream client).

3. Writing, Editing, and wireframing

Now that I’ve become more than familiar with your voice, I’ve identified your competitors and uncovered meaningful audience insights, I get to the writing part of our project. Once I’m done with the draft, I step away and revisit in 1-2 days with a fresh pair of eyes, tightening up the copy until the messaging is convincing and concise.

The next step is wireframing the final draft to give you a better sense of how the copy is going to look like on the page. After that, we hop on a presentation call for a complete walkthrough. You send over your feedback within 3 days and I turn around any edits within the same timeframe so we can stick to our timelines.


We’ve finally reached the point where you implement the copy and put it to work. Depending on the nature of the project, collecting useful performance data may take some time to collect. Once we have that first batch of results, you share these with me ​so we can dig deeper into the data.

We determine whether we should test additional variants or experiment with different angles, and we discuss how we can further optimize your copy. This is to ensure that your copy is doing its job at engaging with your ideal clients and driving them to take the action you want them to take.
